About THE GREEN BAY GARDEN BLITZ

The Green Bay Garden Blitz 2018 -   May 3, 4, 5, 6 2018  
What is the Garden Blitz? The Green Bay Garden Blitz empowers residents to grow food and be part of a sustainable urban agricultural system. We provide a comprehensive approach to urban agriculture by selling and installing raised bed gardens at a low cost and by providing education and mentorship for gardeners. The garden boxes are installed over the course of one weekend by our team of volunteers. In addition to their garden boxes, new gardeners have a variety of educational opportunities, including our mentor program, which matches experienced gardeners with new growers. Since 2014, Blitz volunteers have built 474 gardens in our community.


The Green Bay Garden Blitz is a project of New Leaf Foods and the Brown County UW-Extension.

​Each year over 100 volunteers come together over a weekend to install over 100 garden boxes in the  backyards, front yards, schools, libraries, community centers, social agencies, food pantries, shelters, and senior living centers in the Green Bay area.


We are looking for volunteers for our 2018 Planning Team. If you have a passion for urban gardening and a matching skillset to any of our positions, please email gbgardenblitz@gmail.com.
